happy easter!!

(i'm stuck on a couch, so not exactly my best photo! haha)

I'm breaking out of my hiatus to say Happy Easter!! Hope it's filled with lots of love, laughter and good memories! And also chocolate, lots and lots of chocolate!

I also wanted to share what I've been loving while in recovery from surgery.

The Mindy Project: I watched all 24 episodes of the 1st season in one day, and then caught up on the second season the day after. It's a really good show, very funny. Of course I'm rooting for Mindy and Danny to be together!!

Other shows I plan on watching while recovering are Brooklyn Nine-nine, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland and Arrow.

Well that's all from me for a little while! Hope you guys are having a wonderful day!

blog hiatus

Today I'm having surgery, and like I briefly mentioned last Wednesday, it's nothing serious. I had a birthmark on my leg that I've been getting removed. Today is procedure number 3, and should be the last one.

But due to that, I'll be sat up on my couch for the next 2 weeks or so. Not much to blog about there, hence the hiatus. But when I come back, I have some things planned so hopefully that's something to look forward to!

This was going to be my outfit today, but then I woke up to snow on the ground! In the middle of April, this is just wrong!!

Glasses: Jimmy Choo | necklace: gift from mom | watch: American Eagle | ring: H&M
Button-up: Garage co. | tank top: RW & Co. | leggings: Suzy Sher

Now I'm dressed in jeans and a sweater!! It's so upsetting! Curse you Mother Nature, bring back springtime.

In happier news, I got to paint my nails!! The worst thing about working in the food industry is you can't wear nail polish. So because of that I don't get to paint my nails as much as I'd like to.

Wearing the Carrie Underwood line with Nicole by O.P.I. in Sweet Daisy. I love it!! Also you can see my midi-ring here, it's from Forever 21.

Well I hope everyone has a happy two weeks! I'll be hauled up on my couch, catching up on shows. I plan on watching The Mindy Project, Brooklyn Nine-nine, and Arrow. We'll see how it goes!

make-up monday; my everyday routine

I thought I would share my everyday make-up routine. Just the simple bare essentials!

The equipment:

First I start with my concealer and foundation:

First is the concealer, I use Maybelline Fit Me concealer in Sand, #20. Then I follow that with my foundation, Make Up Forever HD. For my foundation, I use a Angled contour brush from Sephora in #75.

Next is the bronzer and blush:
(oh hi! i see me in the mirror)

My bronzer is from Too Faced in Endless Summer. My blush is from the Laura Mercier palette. I like to mix the two blushers that it comes with. I use the same contour brush that I use for my foundation with both my bronzer and blush.

Next is my eye shadow:

First comes the eye shadow primer from NARS. Then in the same Laura Mercier palette is my eye shadow. Sometimes I like to use all four. But my main two are Angelic and Pure Glow. When I'm using just the two, I use a Basic Shadow brush from Sephora in #14. If I add in Grace and Innocence, then I use the angled shadow brush from Sephora in #13 for those two.

Now mascara and eye liner:
(yes it's travel size. funny story to this is, i got it as a little gift from sephora for buying it in my birthday month, last june. but i forgot about it until about a month ago)

My mascara which is the life saver of the whole make-up world. I use two because one just isn't enough. I start with what I discovered is the best mascara ever, Benefits; They're Real. I plan to buy the full size one very soon. Then I go over my already applied eyelashes with Maybelline's Falsies Volume Express. Amazing mascara's!!!

I alternate between these two. The one I'm wearing today is Sephora Contour Eye Pencil in Black lace (another gift present from Sephora). This one is more of a crayon pencil. The other is Annabelle Kohl which is your basic pencil eyeliner. Both eyeliners are great and complete the eye look I like. Now I just need to learn how to achieve the upper eyelid eyeliner! Still haven't managed to get that right!!

Lastly is lipstick!

(sorry this is blurry!)

Today I'm wearing Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in #025, Peach. I absolutely love these and I have about three or four of them.

That's all for today!! I'm always looking for different make-up brands to try, and different products to use so let me know in the comments what make-up products you've been loving!

my everyday haircare routine.

As you can see, I've got a lot of hair to maintain. But my hair is my favourite feature, and it's always important to take good care of your hair.

Here's some of the products I use everyday to keep my hair healthy and clean.

First we'll start with Shampoo and Conditioner:

I have always been a big fan of Dove products! I like to use the Nutritive Solutions: Daily Moisture because it leaves my hair feeling ultra soft and healthy. I will try other shampoos/conditioners, but I'll always end up coming back to Dove.

Next is the Detangler:

My hair always gets very knotty, it's one of my main problems especially the longer it gets. So this product is a life saver! It's the L'Oreal Total Repair; Replensing, detangling care. What use to take my 15-20 minutes in brushing out knots, now takes 5 minutes at the most. It also helps strengthen your hair which I need since my hair is very fine and thin.

Lastly is the moose:

Leaving moose in your hair after a bath or shower can do wonders for your hair. It gives you extra volume and texture. I tend to use the Aussie Sprunch more. It's not a heavy moose so it won't leave your hair feeling hard and sticky as some mooses do. This one is a Leave in Conditioner + styling moose, and it's hold is at the lowest setting. So it doesn't feel like you have moose in, but you get the benefits that moose provides.

If I know I'm going to blow dry my hair, then I use the TreSemme Thermal Creations moose. It's for heat protection. It works just as good as the Aussie. I just have a tendency to go the lazy route and let my hair air dry.

And that's all the steps I take on a daily basis to maintain my hair. What hair products are you guys a fan of? Let me know in the comments, I'm always looking for new products to try out.

Hope everyone's enjoying this nice Spring day!

workout wednesday

So I took a workout winter break, and it stops now! I tend to be very fickle with working out. I'll commit to it for a little while, then I'll stop and that cycle continually repeats itself. But this time I'm really going to try to commit to working out at least three times a week, starting today.

(Although I'll have to put that commitment on pause next week due to surgery. Don't worry nothing serious, I will explain on Tuesday!)

This is my main source of exercise; yoga. I took a screenshot of the app I use on my iPad. The app is called Yoga Studio and I think it cost $2.99 if I'm not mistaken, and well worth it too! If you have this app available to you, and you like yoga, I recommend it.

If you can't purchase this app, it's okay! You can learn different yoga poses by googling them, searching on youtube or there's many different yoga dvds available to purchase. Or if you really want to venture out of the comfort of your home, you can take an actual yoga class.

I find yoga the best because afterwards you feel very relaxed and good about yourself, at least that's how I feel after doing yoga.

I also like to do a set of 50 crunches afterwards just to give extra attention to my torso area.

The important thing to do is to always stay hydrated. But if you're like me and need something more than just water to keep you going, I suggest Crystal Light singles. They are amazing!! You just add a package to your water bottle, shake it up and you're good to go.

Lastly is the attire because if the opportunity presents itself then I can't not take about fashion! Of course while working out, you don't have to be dressed up and fancy. I find just a good pair of leggings and a nice sports bra can be the perfect combo when working out or in my case doing yoga. Afterwards, I like to wear a lightweight throw-over top to keep it casual and comfy.

(did a somewhat sturdy tree pose for you guys!)

Sports Bra: Forever 21 | Leggings: H&M | Comfy throw-over: Love Pink

That's all for today! What kind of exercises do you prefer? Let me know in the comments.

Happy Wednesday! Hope you're all having a good mid-week.

currently loving; skincare products edition

I will admit I never really looked after my skin for the longest time. It's most likely the reason I need to take special medication for a couple of years to control acne. I had to take pills and use a prescription medication cream. I've stopped with the pills, but still need the cream to this day.

But now I've taken a personal vow to myself to start to take better care of my skin. So I took a trip to Sephora a couple of months ago, and one of the lovely ladies there recommended these products to me and I'm loving them at the moment.

I try to make sure I clean my face twice a day, once in the morning and again at night. Sometimes that can be hard to do, especially if you're like me and your work mornings start at 5am. But I think if you do this at the very least once a day, then at least you're doing something good for yourself.

First I'll start with the cleanser.

This product is from Fresh. It's for all skin types. Smells of cucumbers, which is a smell that I love!!

You just wet your face, and then gently rub this all over including your eyes. It removes any dead skin, and also takes off any makeup you may have on including mascara. So it's multi-purpose. Then of course rinse off, and always make sure you have a face towel handy.

Next is another product from Fresh. This one's the Lotus Eye Gel. Also smells of cucumber!

I have tend to get dark circles under my eyes. So the saleslady suggested this product. After cleansing your face, you'll want to apply this underneath your eyes. I use a cream shadow make-up brush to apply it.

Lastly is a ultra lightweight moisturizing oil. This product is from Josie Maran.

I'll be honest, it took me a bit to get use to this product. I'd even skip it sometimes because I wasn't sure. I'm very particular about certain smells, and this smells horrid to me. It's old, and musty. But once you get past that, it's actually really nice. It leaves your skin feeling very soft. That is if you apply properly. You have to make sure you use a small amount. Use too much, and your skin is left feeling too oily.

And that is all I have for now.

I'm always looking for more beauty/skincare products to try out, so let me know in the comments which skincare products you are loving.

Hope everyone is having a Happy Tuesday.

Friday, 4 April 2014

end of the week roundup.

It's friday!! So that means it's time to talk about things I liked/enjoyed this week.

Word of warning; if you haven't seen the latest Once Upon a Time and don't want to be spoiled, maybe skip this post.

Here's three things that made me happy throughout the week:

You guys remember when I made a post telling you about The OC rewatch I was doing, well this week I finished it. I'll always love that show and wish we could have gotten some more from it. But I'm still grateful for the entertainment it provides, and I'm sure I'll be doing many more rewatches of this show in the future.

As much as I love the first three seasons, I really adore the fourth and last season. I wish it had gotten a full season order because you could tell when it started to get rushed to the finish line. But they still made it work, and it's a good, fun season to watch. I also really enjoyed the relationship between Ryan and Taylor. It was nice to see Ryan finding happiness again after going through a major tragedy. I always thought that Taylor brought out the best in him. They really balance each other out, which is nice to watch. And of course, I always love Seth and Summer. They are the couple of The OC for me and many others, I'm sure. So I was very pleased that they ended up together in the end.

The OC is one of those iconic shows that stays with you! Such a fun teen drama.

Well this is one that didn't make me happy, in fact I cried when this happened. But I thought I'd share this because I didn't see it coming.

This week on Once Upon a Time, Neal/Baefire died..for real this time. I try to stay away from spoilers as much as I can for this show. So I did hear rumblings that a character was going to die, but I didn't know when and I didn't know who. So when this happened, I was shocked. It was really sad because Neal/Baelfire was a character that was connected to so many characters.

As sad as I am for Emma and Rumple, I feel really sad for Henry. He currents doesn't have his memories yet. So right now in the story, he didn't know his dad at all, and Emma tells him he was a hero, so he's sad of course because it's his dad. But just picturing him getting his memories back, he'll have to lose him all over again and this time he'll remember all the moments they shared together. It really tugs at the heart stings, I tell ya!

But this show is A+ in my books right now. I'm still really enjoying it, and with the absence of Teen Wolf, it's currently my favourite show on TV. I can't wait for this Sunday's episode.

Remember last week how I talked about my love for the YouTube boyband, and I officially named Joe Sugg my favourite YouTuber. Yeah, we're going to talk about this guy again this week, and I'll be honest this won't be the last you see of him on this blog.

I've officially declared him my British husband, cause hey, one can dream ;) While I enjoyed my rewatch and tv shows, I also spent the week watching his videos again. They can put an instant smile on your face, which can be the best medicine if you're ever in a bad or sad mood. He's funny with quick wit and amazing impressions. He can sing really well, I've watched any of the videos he's sang on this week because he's that good, him and Zoe, must run in the family. And let's be real, he's pretty easy on the eyes ;)

If you have a YouTube account, go check him out and subscribe to his channels while you're there ;) Both channels are worth subscribing too, and he's on his way to 2 million subscribers on his main channel!! Let's help him get there!

Main Channel: ThatcherJoe | Vlog channel: ThatcherJoeVlogs

Well that's it for this week! What did you enjoy this week? Let me know in the comments!

Have a lovely weekend everyone!
