I finally got around to watching all 9 seasons of The Office on Netflix. I've always wanted to watch this show, especially in the last 5 years that I've been on tumblr. Anytime I saw a gifset of funny Michael Scott one-liners, or of the romance between Jim and Pam, I'd want to start watching but continued to put it off. So finally for the last month, I've been catching up of 9 years of television, and I was not disappointed.

I'm not the biggest Steve Carrell fan. I don't hate him, but I don't love him either. Sometimes his character was a little too much for me personally, but I ended up loving Michael Scott for his obliviousness and how much he cared for his employees, and yes I sobbed during his farewell episode.

The core romance of the show is Jim Halpert and Pam Beesley. He's a salesman, she's the receptionist. They start off as just friends though he's loved her right from the start. Their romance is every shipper's dream. Of course it's not all smooth sailing, but that's the fun of it. They are just so realistic, but also so idealistic, if that makes sense. They are mainly what drew me in to the show, and I'm so glad because I loved their story the most and I knew I would.

I can't talk about The Office and not mention the rivalry between Jim and Dwight which I loved! Jim's pranks are always the highlight of the show in my opinion. Dwight's character is such an easy target because he takes everything so seriously. So it's always fun to watch the pranks Jim comes up with for him, and seeing his reaction.

Here's one of the many Jim/Dwight pranks that I loved!

Overall, I really liked the whole ensemble. They all gelled really well together, and all had their own uniqueness. I also liked that it was a true mockumentary. It was presented like they were filming a documentary the whole time, and it felt that way throughout the whole series and of course payed off in the final episodes. Shows like Modern Family and Parks and Recreation have mockumentary style in them where they are sitting down and talking to the camera, but you don't feel like they are in a documentary. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love those shows! But I just liked that The Office really felt like it was filming a documentary making the looks to the camera and the sit down interviews valid.

Are you a fan of The Office? What do you like about it? Who's your favourite character?

Thanks for reading!!
